Frequently Asked Questions

Product Questions

How do you eat this?

Grab a spoon! For real though, we find that most folks eat Udderly Nuts straight out of the jar with a spoon. Some flavors can be spread on toast, dipped with graham crackers, etc... but most of our flavors are more like an edible cookie dough than a jar of grocery-store peanut butter. If you're looking for a spreadable peanut butter, stick with our base flavors (Honey-Roasted, White Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, and Butterscotch). Any flavors with marshmallow fluff, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, or frosting will be thicker and drier than traditional peanut butter.

Are your toppings mixed throughout each jar or only on top?

We mix each small batch by hand and blend ingredients all throughout your butter. Most flavors (but not all, see product photos) also have extra toppings placed on top as well!

Is your peanut butter smooth or crunchy?

Our peanut butter is not as smooth as your typical grocery variety as the mills we use are not as fine, but our base flavors will be similar to store brands. The rest of our flavors will be thicker.

Is your peanut butter gluten free?

Our peanuts and our milk chocolate, white chocolate, dark chocolate, and butterscotch chips are gluten free. Unfortunately, some manufacturers don't claim that their products are gluten free for liability reasons (even though they likely are gluten free). Because of this, we cannot claim gluten free on some of our products. We advise you to closely examine the nutrition facts which can be found in the photos on each product page.

Where can I find nutrition information?

You can find nutrition facts on each product page. Scroll through the photos and you will find the nutrition label.

What kind of texture/consistency should I expect?

You'll find a little of everything here.

Base flavors like Honey-Roasted, White Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Butterscotch will be a thinner consistency.

Flavors with frosting, marshmallow fluff, caramel sauce, or chocolate sauce will be thicker and drier and are only meant to be eaten with a spoon.

Examples of thicker flavors include Road Trip, Fluffy Bunny, Caramel Cookie Crunch, Turtlicious, and Carrot Cake.

Product Storage

Do I need to refrigerate my peanut butter?

Our handcrafted peanut butters do not need refrigerated (although some flavors taste wonderful straight out of the fridge..I'm looking at you White Chocolate).

What is the shelf life of Udderly Nuts peanut butter?

Unopened products will remain fresh for 6 months. Once opened, we recommend eating within 30 days (but let's be honest, does it really last that long anyway?).

Why does my peanut butter have oil on top?

We do not add any preservatives and it is common to see oil on top of natural peanut butters. Some flavors gain more oil than others depending on the consistency and mix-ins.

Order Questions

Help! I put the wrong address on my order. What do I do?

No problem! As long as your order has not shipped out, we can edit this for you. Email us with the correct address at hello@UdderlyNuts.com

Unfortunately, if your product has already shipped prior to realizing a shipping error, we are unable to refund your order unless the fault is on our end.

My order is wrong or an item is missing. What do I do?

Oh no! We try our best but mistakes happen. Please email us at hello@udderlynuts.com and we will make it right.

I don't like my product... Can I exchange or return it?

Unfortunately, as a small batch company, we cannot accept returns or exchanges and all sales are final. We work hard to strive for customer satisfaction, but unfortunately we do not offer refunds due to:

  • Taste preference: If you do not like butterscotch/coconut etc..., we recommend you order a flavor you are more likely to enjoy!
  • You don't like the taste: While we don't hear this often, we understand we all have different tastes!
  • You don't like the texture: Our base flavors (Honey-Roasted, White Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, and Butterscotch) will be similar to traditional peanut butter. All other flavors are meant to be eaten with a spoon and are more like an edible cookie dough (with the benefit of some protein). Many flavors can be quite thick!
  • It doesn't look like the photos on the website: While each jar looks like the website photos when produced, settling may happen as a result being shipped. In the summer months, toppings may melt. Unfortunately, we have no control over package handling throughout the shipping system or the temperatures where the product is being delivered.

We're happy to replace your product with another flavor for the cost of shipping a new jar to you.

If you feel your product has a quality issue, please reach out to us at hello@udderlynuts.com.

My jar seal is broken. Is it safe to eat?

We seal our products by hand one jar at a time, but unfortunately the system isn't perfect. Occasionally, one corner of the seal doesn't stick. We've also found that the seals sometimes lift up when opening the jar lid. While more than likely safe, we understand a broken seal can be concerning and will make it right. Just reach out by email to hello@udderlynuts.com

Where are my toppings?

While this doesn't happen all that regularly, from time to time the heat of shipping as well as jostling during transit can cause the toppings to mix into the product. All toppings are place on top by hand prior to each jar being sealed.

Shipping Questions

Where do you ship from?

We ship all of our products out of our small-batch kitchen in Butler, Missouri.

When will my order ship?

All of our peanut butter products are made fresh daily. While we strive to get orders out within 1-3 business days, your order may take 5-7 business days to ship. As a small batch peanut butter company, we do not have a warehouse with shelves full of finished products. Once we fulfill your order and it ships, you will receive an email notification with tracking information.

Do you ship to Canada?

Yes, but shipping to Canada can be quite expensive! Also keep in mind, duties and taxes are not included in shipping charges and are paid by the recipient prior to delivery.

If an order is refused by customs or if you, the customer, refuse to pay import fees, your package may be abandoned and you will not be eligible for a refund of any kind. By ordering, you agree to these terms.

Why is shipping so expensive?

We wish it was cheaper too! Unfortunately, peanut butter is heavy and expensive to ship. What we charge you to ship your product is often less than what we actually pay.

My package says delivered but it is not here. Help!

If you believe your package was stolen or delivered incorrectly, please reach out to USPS directly. Once your order is given to USPS, that package and its delivery are outside our control. To file a claim with USPS, please visit www.usps.com/help/claims.htm or call their customer care center at 800-222-1811.

If you have any questions, please reach out to us at hello@udderlynuts.com

My jars arrived with melted chocolate. What happened?

As temperatures warm up in the summer, chocolate and other heat-sensitive ingredients may melt during shipping. We top each jar with the appropriate amount of ingredients by hand prior to shipping, but heat during shipping may cause toppings to mix into the product or melt entirely.

If you choose to place an order during the summer months, you do so at your own risk. We are not responsible for packages left outside after delivery.

My package was damaged in transit. What do I do?

All USPS Priority Mail shipments carry $100 insurance for damage. If you receive a damaged package, you will need to submit a claim on the USPS website here: https://www.usps.com/help/claims.htm

Do NOT throw your package away, as you may need to provide proof to USPS that your package was damaged in transit.
